“I’m the third of six children and growing up I was taught that sharing was part of life. My family went through many hard times including my dad being out of work on several occasions. When I was 11 or 12 he was out of work for about a year so times were tough. A few days before Christmas a box with food and a small present for each of us was left on our porch. This act of kindness left a huge impression on me and I was so grateful that someone cared about the needs of my family. Ever since then, I have tried to help others when I can.” -Brenda Sampsel

“I served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints back in early 90’s. As part of my mission, I served on the Navajo Nation for 6 months, during this time I grew to love the Native American people. I saw first hand how these wonderful people live and what they don’t have in their lives. I decided that I would help these people in any way possible for the rest of my life. So when Leta asked for help, I knew this was a simple way to help the people that I love.” -Shane Lee
